Let's say you want to hide the fact that this program is installed, so no one would know its installed, then open Programs and Features, and try to uninstall that program. The easy thing to avoid any confusion would be that if you accidentally try to uninstall that program, just say that you don't want the name of that program removed from the list of installed programs if asked if you want to remove the name from that list. But the program IS on your computer, and you can still open and use that program any time you want. The only tiny little bug you would encounter would be if you want to uninstall this program from the Add/Remove / Programs and Features list, then Windows will say that it cannot locate the Uninstaller file, and would ask you if you want to just delete the name of that program from the Programs and Features list (keep note that if you say you want to remove the name of that program, it will NOT uninstall the program Programs and Features would just no longer show that this program is on your computer any more. Now any attempt from any other program, and even Windows, will be unable to uninstall that program, because no other program, nor Windows, know that the uninstaller file is now located at a different location. Then I would move unins000.exe to the new folder that I named as Uninstaller I would make a new folder in this folder and name it: Uninstaller I know that the exe file is in this folder to uninstall the program. When I go to that folder, I see all the files of that program. The location of that program is at: C:\Program Files\Better File Series 6 Well, to be honest with you, if I faced a similar problem where I don't want any program to try to open another program's uninstaller, I wouldn't password protect the Uninstaller file instead, I would move the Uninstaller exe file to a new folder that I create in that program's folder.įor example: I have a program called Better File Series 6.
